Fern Solar LLC is a 100 MW solar photovoltaic plant in Edgecombe County. Fern Solar is a utility-scale solar project in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, and BayWa r.e.'s first U.S. independent power producer solar project. Reaching commercial operation on December 11, 2020, it features more than 353,000 PV panels and was the largest project BayWa r.e. had built in the U.S. Its output is contracted through virtual power purchase agreements with Starbucks and a group of corporate buyers, financed with tax equity from RBC Capital Markets and debt from Rabobank and Banco Sabadell.
