Friant Hydro Facility
Friant Hydro Facility is a conventional hydroelectric plant in Fresno County, California, with four operating generators totaling 37.5 MW of nameplate capacity. The plant is built into Friant Dam on the San Joaquin River, using releases from the Bureau of Reclamation's Millerton Lake reservoir to spin turbines rather than an independent water source. It is owned and operated by the Friant Power Authority under FERC License No. 11068.</cite> <cite index="15-1">One such expansion increased generating capacity at the Friant Dam River Outlet site by 7 megawatts to use increased flow required by the San Joaquin River Settlement Agreement for renewable energy.</cite> The facility sells into the CAISO market and settles at the FRIANTDM_7_B1 node located essentially at the plant site.
