Garden Wind LLC is a 150 MW onshore wind turbine plant in Hardin County. Garden Wind is a wind generating facility in Hardin County, Iowa, owned through Garden Wind, LLC, an indirect subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc. It began commercial operation in 2009 and is reported at a nameplate capacity of 160 MW. The facility interconnects with the ITC Midwest transmission system in MISO under a large generator interconnection agreement, and FERC authorized market-based rates for it in 2010. In 2020 Garden Wind filed a MISO reactive power compensation rate schedule for the facility.
