High Desert Power Plant

High Desert Power Plant is a natural gas-fired power facility with 960 MW of EIA-reported nameplate capacity in San Bernardino County, California, registered as EIA Plant ID 55518. High Desert was described as the first new major power plant serving Southern California in more than a decade. Commercial operation began on April 22, 2003. Its grid role is dispatchable combined-cycle thermal generation; historically, the plant's entire output was under California Department of Water Resources dispatch.
