Montville Station
Montville Station is a 489.9 MW thermal peaking facility in Uncasville, Connecticut, along the Thames River. The station consists of four units: Unit 5, a 75 MW natural-gas/residual-fuel-oil steam turbine operating since January 1954; Unit 6, a 414.9 MW residual-fuel-oil steam turbine operating since January 1971; and Units 10 and 11, two 2.7 MW distillate-fuel-oil internal-combustion engines placed in service in January 1967 and currently standby. The facility is located on a 49-acre site and has operated continuously since 1954, celebrating its centennial in 2019.
