Morgan Creek is a six-turbine peaking plant in Mitchell County, Texas. EIA's May 2026 inventory reports 536.4 MW nameplate, 397 MW net summer, and 485 MW net winter capability, with all six combustion turbines entering service in July or August 1988. EIA currently classifies the generators under distillate fuel oil, while Luminant's plant fact sheet describes natural gas and a 390 MW operating rating. Those records use different fuel and capacity conventions and are presented separately rather than merged.
