Entergy Texas Inc. - Orange County - MISO
Sabine is a natural-gas steam-turbine power station located in Orange County, Texas, comprising four operating generators with approximately 1,811.8 MW of aggregate nameplate capacity. Entergy Texas Inc. owns and operates the facility as a regulated utility asset in the MISO balancing area. The plant entered service in January 1962 with Unit 1, followed by Unit 3 (December 1966), Unit 4 (August 1974), and Unit 5 (December 1979). The plant operates at 138 kV grid voltage interconnected via the Sabine 230/138 kV switchyard. Entergy Texas has planned the retirement of Units 1, 3, and 4 in 2026, to be replaced by the separately developed Orange County Advanced Power Station. Unit 5 remains in the continuing operating portfolio with no retirement date specified.
