Operating electric utility power plant at 289 Buffalo Ave, Freeport, Nassau County, New York, consisting of an 18.1 MW petroleum-liquids combustion turbine that began operating in May 1973 and a 60.5 MW natural-gas-fired combustion turbine that began operating in April 2004, for a combined nameplate capacity of 78.6 MW. The 2004 project installed a GE LM6000 turbine and shared gas, electric-interconnection, substation, and site infrastructure with a separately owned merchant generator. The plant is municipally owned by the Village of Freeport and operates within NYISO Zone K.
