Colorado Bend Energy Center is an eight-generator natural-gas facility in Wharton County, Texas. EIA's May 2026 inventory reports 654.1 MW nameplate and 608 MW net summer and winter capability. Four combined-cycle combustion-turbine records entered service in May 2002, steam turbines followed in May 2007 and June 2008, and two simple-cycle combustion turbines entered service in May 2023. TotalEnergies announced in November 2023 that Colorado Bend I, described as 530 MW combined cycle plus 74 MW open cycle, was included in a $635 million three-plant Texas portfolio acquisition from TexGen; the consideration was not allocated by plant.
