Sim Gideon
Sim Gideon Power Plant is a three-unit natural-gas steam-electric facility east of Bastrop, Texas. EIA's May 2026 inventory reports 623 MW nameplate, 607 MW net summer, and 620 MW net winter capability, with all three units operating. EIA dates the units to May 1965, March 1968, and May 1972. LCRA, the registered operator and owner, describes Sim Gideon as a 620 MW net-maximum facility with three traditional gas-fired thermal steam units at Lost Pines Power Park; Lake Bastrop supplies cooling water.
