Edge Moor

Edge Moor is a natural gas-fired power facility with 697.8 MW of EIA-reported nameplate capacity in New Castle County, Delaware, registered as EIA Plant ID 593. Edge Moor is a historically significant PJM coastal generation site: it is described as one of the first power stations built with a fully centralized control system, and the U.S. Department of Justice identifies it as a roughly 707 MW simple-cycle natural-gas plant included in the PJM divestiture package. The plant began commercial operation in 1965. Its grid role is dispatchable peaking generation; historical Calpine asset information characterizes the Edge Moor facility as natural-gas and oil-fired simple-cycle generation with peaking capacity.
