FPL Energy Illinois Wind LLC Hybrid is a 237.5 MW onshore wind turbine, batteries plant in DeKalb County. The Lee DeKalb wind complex near DeKalb, Illinois, is a 217 MW wind farm owned by NextEra Energy Resources through FPL Energy Illinois Wind, LLC. Construction began in August 2009 on a $400 million project planned around 133 GE 1.5 MW turbines. The Illinois Municipal Electric Agency contracted for 70 MW of its output in 2010. A battery storage unit shares its interconnection agreement, and NextEra has asked PJM to deactivate that unit from April 1, 2027.
