GE signed a contract to provide and install five LMS100 gas-turbine generators at East Kentucky Power Cooperative's J. K. Smith Station. Each unit had a nominal rating of 100 MW, implying 500 MW of nominal equipment capacity. Natural gas was the primary fuel with No. 2 distillate as backup.
