The Ohio Power Siting Board issued a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need for a proposed conversion from an approximately 850 MW peaker to a 1,414 MW combined-cycle/peaking facility. The proposal would have converted four of the five units while retaining 20% of peaking capacity; construction and operation were prospective, not evidence of completion.
LS Power announced the acquisition agreement in June 2022 and closed the transaction on September 16, 2022, acquiring the 835 MW five-unit simple-cycle peaking facility from an ArcLight Capital Partners affiliate. The sale price was not disclosed.
