Lockport Energy Associates LP
Lockport Energy Associates, L.P. owns and operates a natural-gas-fired combined-cycle cogeneration facility in Lockport, Niagara County, New York. The facility, identified as generator LEA1, has approximately 221 MW of capacity and began commercial operation on July 8, 1992. It produces electricity sold to New York State Electric & Gas Corporation and process steam sold to the adjacent General Motors Western New York Lockport Components plant. The facility comprises three General Electric P-6541B Frame 6 combustion turbine generators, three heat recovery steam generators, and one steam turbine generator, along with an auxiliary boiler and three starting diesel engines.
