Morris Cogeneration LLC
Morris Cogeneration LLC is an operating natural-gas-fired combined heat and power facility located at 8805 N Tabler Road, Morris, Grundy County, Illinois. The facility began commercial operations in November 1998 and comprises four generators: three GE Frame 6B combustion turbines and one GE steam turbine, each combustion turbine paired with a Deltak heat-recovery steam generator. EIA records as of June 2026 list four operating generators with nameplate capacities of 45.3 MW (UNT1), 45.3 MW (UNT2), 45.3 MW (UNT3), and 82.9 MW (STG1), totaling 218.8 MW of nameplate capacity. The facility supplies steam and power on-site to LyondellBasell's Morris petrochemical operations and sells surplus electricity into the PJM wholesale market. Fengate Asset Management, in strategic partnership with Ironclad Energy, acquired 100% ownership in December 2023 from Atlantic Power & Utilities.
