Ozark Beach
Ozark Beach is a 16 MW conventional hydroelectric plant with four generating units on the White River in Taney County, Missouri. The dam impounds Lake Taneycomo between the U.S. Army Corps' Table Rock Dam upstream and Bull Shoals Lake downstream, and the powerhouse discharges directly into Bull Shoals. The plant operates under FERC Project No. 2221, whose license expired February 28, 2022; Empire filed for a new license in February 2020 and has been running on annual license extensions while FERC completes relicensing, most recently holding a programmatic-agreement consultation on the project in August 2026. As part of relicensing, Empire/Liberty has proposed raising the dam's Obermeyer gates from four to six feet to add head and firm up lake levels for boating. Ozark Beach sells into the Southwest Power Pool market.
