Emissions: DEQ permit 74161-5 regulates emergency diesel generator emissions at the QTS Manassas source. Its facility-wide annual limits for Gen01–Gen159 are 98.09 tons per year of NOx, 51.14 tons per year of CO, 17.95 tons per year of VOC, 5.37 tons per year of PM, 5.73 tons per year of PM10, and 5.73 tons per year of PM2.5; these are permitted aggregate limits, not measured DC5 emissions.
Environmental commitments: QTS states that the Manassas campus, including DC5, uses closed-loop cooling requiring only an initial water fill and eliminating ongoing water demand for cooling.
Environmental impacts: Closed-loop cooling avoids ongoing water consumption for cooling after the initial system fill, but total building water use for standard operational needs is not quantified for DC5. · Emergency-diesel-generator air emissions are regulated under DEQ permit 74161-5; the permit's aggregate limits apply across the permitted QTS source and are not attributable to DC5 alone.
