Southern Hills Wind Farm is a 254.1 MW onshore wind turbine plant in Union County. Southern Hills is a MidAmerican Energy Company wind farm listed by the utility at 254.50 MW across Adair, Union and Adams counties in Iowa, among the renewable projects it owns. Its Southern Hills Expansion phase uses 21 Siemens Gamesa SG 4.5-145 turbines, each operating at 4.8 MW, supplied under a service and maintenance agreement of three and a half years. MidAmerican selected the turbines in August 2019.
