Tenaska Westmoreland Generating Station
Tenaska Westmoreland Generating Station is an operating natural-gas-fired combined-cycle power plant located in South Huntingdon Township near Smithton in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The facility consists of two Mitsubishi M501J gas turbines (327 MW each) and a steam-turbine generator in a heat-recovery steam-generation arrangement, with a total nameplate capacity of 1,134 MW across three EIA-registered units (CTG1, CTG2, and STG1). The plant entered commercial operation in December 2018 and sells power into the PJM Interconnection. Tenaska Pennsylvania Partners, LLC is the legal owner; Tenaska Operations, Inc. operates the facility.
