Warren F Sam Beasley Generation Station is a 96 MW natural gas fired combustion turbine plant in Kent County. The Warren F. Beasley Power Station is a roughly 100 MW natural gas peaking plant in Smyrna, Delaware, jointly owned by seven member utilities of the Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation. DEMEC commissioned unit 1 around 2001 to 2002 and celebrated unit 2 in June 2012, a $30 million expansion. The plant can deliver power to the grid within ten minutes and is Delaware's only blackstart capable generation facility, supporting reliability and restoration.
