A forecast, not a day-ahead market: Alberta clears no day-ahead energy market.

Query contract

Preserve one canonical row per (event_time, publish_time) before aggregating.

Analysis rules

  • publish_time is when the collector retrieved this forecast, not a verified AESO publication time. A forecast for hour H as known before H: the latest publish_time < H. Never stitch vintages into one curve without saying so.

Interpretation

  • event_time is the START of the hour (hour beginning), in UTC. Alberta civil time is America/Edmonton.
  • Prices are Canadian dollars per MWh. Never add, rank or average them with US-dollar prices without a dated exchange rate, and say which rate was used.
