Query contract

Preserve one canonical row per (event_time, system, market, node) before aggregating.

Analysis rules

  • Filter system: 'SIN' is the mainland, 'BCA' Baja California, 'BCS' Baja California Sur. The three are not synchronous and clear separately: never add, average or rank their prices as one market.
  • Filter one market: 'MDA' (day-ahead) or 'MTR' (real-time, priced ex-post). Never average the two. Dedupe with argMax(price_mxn_mwh, ingested_at) per (event_time, system, market, node).

Interpretation

  • Prices are Mexican pesos per MWh. For dollars divide by fred.series DEXMXUS (pesos per dollar) for the same date, or the last business day before it, and say which rate was used.
  • event_time is the UTC start of the hour on each system's own clock: SIN on Mexico City's, BCA on Tijuana's (with US daylight time), BCS on Mazatlan's.
