Overview

These prices clear before the operating day and provide the day-ahead companion to real-time zonal LBMP, useful for DA/RT spreads, congestion expectations, and load-zone market analysis.

Read nyiso.da_lmp_zone with FINAL before comparison or aggregation.

Analysis rules

  • For a load-zone ranking, filter zone_name using the registered 'NYISO load zones' entity set. Do not label external proxy interfaces such as H Q, O H, NPX, or PJM as NYISO load zones.

Interpretation

  • A congestion price component does not establish that a specific constraint was binding. Do not characterize an energy component unless it was returned or queried through the registered measure.
  • NYISO posts the next day's day-ahead prices late morning Eastern time, around 11 AM ET the day before delivery; they typically become available here by mid-afternoon. Earlier in the day, the next day's prices are not out yet.
