ACE is the signed instantaneous difference between scheduled and actual balancing obligation; it changes within seconds and should not be treated as a slowly varying reserve or energy quantity. Source: PJM Data Miner 2.

Query contract

Read one canonical revision per area and event_time. For current state, require a recent event_time; ACE changes sign within seconds and an old value is not a valid substitute.

Analysis rules

Preserve the published sign. Do not convert ACE into reserve, energy, or interchange.
Use area='PJM' for the whole balancing authority.
