Equus Freeport Power is a dual-fueled simple-cycle combustion-turbine facility located at 289 Buffalo Avenue in Freeport, Nassau County, New York. The facility operates one GE LM6000 PC Sprint turbine, rated at 48 MW, burning natural gas as the primary fuel and low-sulfur distillate fuel as backup. It began commercial operation in June 2004 and operates as an independent power producer in the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) market.
