Karankawa Wind LLC (EIA plant 61343) is a 307.06 MW onshore wind farm spanning San Patricio and Bee counties in south Texas near Mathis. It consists of 124 GE wind turbines—93 units rated at 2.52 MW, 7 at 2.5 MW, and 24 at 2.3 MW—on 18,000 acres. Developed and owned by Avangrid Renewables, LLC (a subsidiary of AVANGRID, Inc. and part of the Iberdrola Group), the facility achieved commercial operation on December 30, 2019. Output is sold under long-term power purchase agreements to Austin Energy (207 MW) and Nike (100 MW).
