The Montgomery County Resource Recovery Facility in Dickerson, Maryland, is a waste-to-energy plant that began commercial operation in August 1995. The Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority owns it and Reworld operates it. It processes about 1,500 tons of solid waste a day and generates up to 55 megawatts. The facility has three units, and in 2026 reports described two of them as having been taken offline over dioxin emissions. Montgomery County extended its contract with Reworld through April 2031 with an early termination option.
