Moraine Sands Wind Power is a 171 MW onshore wind turbine plant in Mason County. Moraine Sands is a 171 MW onshore wind farm in Mason County, Illinois, made up of 38 Vestas V150 4.5 MW turbines. Mortenson was the engineering, procurement and construction contractor, with construction running from spring to December 2023. The project sells 100% of its power to Microsoft under a long-term agreement and secured a construction loan and tax equity commitment in July 2023.
