Pulliam
Pulliam is a 91 MW natural gas fired combustion turbine plant in Brown County. The single active generator, Unit 31, has run as a peaking unit since May 2003 and is owned and operated by Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, a WEC Energy Group subsidiary. The site originally housed eight coal-fired units dating to 1927; two were retired in 1980, two in 2007, and the final four coal units (5 through 8) were shut down between 2015 and October 2018 as WEC Energy Group shifted away from coal toward gas and renewables. Only the gas combustion turbine remains in service today, so the plant continues to operate rather than having fully retired. Pulliam sells into MISO, with its nearest settlement points on the WEC/WPS transmission system in eastern Wisconsin.
