Steel Winds Wind Farm is an operating 20 MW onshore wind facility located in Lackawanna, Erie County, New York, on the former Bethlehem Steel site. All eight turbines were repowered in September 2019, with nacelles, rotors, hubs, and blades replaced while the original towers, foundations, and electrical equipment remained in place. The turbine count and 20 MW nameplate capacity were unchanged by the repowering. system and participates in the NYISO wholesale market.
