Baja California's imports and exports are its flows with California.

Query contract

Preserve one canonical row per (event_time, system, area, settlement) before aggregating.

Analysis rules

  • Filter system: 'BCA' is Baja California (tied to CAISO), 'BCS' is Baja California Sur and 'SIN' is the rest of Mexico; never add systems together as if they were one grid.
  • Every settlement is stored; take the highest settlement per hour (argMax(value, settlement)) for the best estimate. Settlement 0 lands about 14 days after the day.

Interpretation

  • layout 'v1' (2016-2018) has no measured imports and its exports are day-ahead schedules; compare import flows only from 'v2' on.
  • Values are MWh per hour, equal to average MW.
