Overview

source_time preserves the file's real publication timestamp; compare a delivery hour only with the matching completed-day estimate, never with a sum that also includes SYSTEM.

Query contract

Use FINAL or argMax over source_time then ingested_at. For the system value, select zone_name='SYSTEM' directly.

Analysis rules

  • Use zone_name='SYSTEM' for the NYISO-wide forecast. Never add SYSTEM to the component zones.

Interpretation

  • source_time is the observed HTTP/archive publication timestamp. Rows with NULL source_time predate the publication-time repair and are not safe for historical as-of claims.
  • This is behind-the-meter output treated as load reduction, not utility-scale generation injected into the grid.
