Chesapeake Solar Project, which NextEra Energy Resources calls the Chesapeake Solar Energy Center, is a solar plant of up to 118 MW in the city of Chesapeake, Virginia. Chesapeake City Council approved the project in June 2021 on about 912 acres of leased agricultural land, an investment of roughly USD 135 million. It started generating in December 2023 and is NextEra Energy Resources' first utility-scale project in Virginia.
