This was an asset acquisition of plant under construction; no power purchase agreement or capacity contract was disclosed.
On September 19, 2007, AEP completed its purchase of the Dresden natural-gas-fired power plant under construction from Dresden Energy LLC, a Dominion subsidiary, through AEP Generating Company, for approximately $85 million.
Construction was reported complete in late 2011, with testing and inspections completed in January 2012.
AEP accelerated construction of the partially completed plant, targeting operation during the first quarter of 2012.
