American Electric Power, through Appalachian Power, completed the purchase of the 505 MW Ceredo Generating Station in West Virginia from a subsidiary of Reliant Energy for approximately $100 million. AEP's 2005 annual report states that Appalachian Power signed the purchase and sale agreement with Reliant Energy in August 2005 and completed the transaction in December 2005.
