Massena Energy Facility
PowerTransitions LegacyOps II LLC - St Lawrence County - NYISO
The Massena Energy Facility is a natural-gas-fired combined-cycle electric generating facility located on Alcoa Power Canal Road in Massena, New York. It comprises two combined-cycle generator sections (GEN1 at 66.5 MW and GEN2 at 35.6 MW, configured as a one-on-one combined-cycle block) plus a 2 MW standby distillate-fuel internal-combustion generator. Originally developed by Sithe Energies as a cogeneration facility to supply steam to Alcoa's neighboring industrial operations, the steam line has since been disconnected and capped. The facility now operates as a wholesale electric-generation merchant plant in the NYISO market, connected to National Grid's ALCOA Substation at 115 kV (NYISO PTID 23902).
