Midland Wind is Avangrid's 106-MW wind farm in Henry County, Illinois. Avangrid, a member of the Iberdrola Group, announced in February 2024 that the project's 25 turbines had reached commercial operation in December 2023. It is Avangrid's fourth wind farm in Illinois and brought its capacity in the state to more than 600 MW, the largest of any Midwest state in its portfolio. The turbines are expected to generate nearly 400,000 MWh a year, and construction supported more than 200 jobs, most of them local.
