Shady Oaks Wind Farm
Shady Oaks Wind Farm is a 109.5 MW wind project in Northern Illinois, about 50 miles west of Chicago, that reached commercial operation in June 2012. An affiliate of Algonquin Power Co acquired it from Goldwind, which supplied its 68 GW82 1.5 MW and three GW100 2.5 MW direct-drive turbines. Goldwind provides a 20 year operations, service and maintenance package. The project sells its output to Commonwealth Edison under a 20-year inflation indexed power purchase agreement.
