Sithe Independence Station
Sithe Independence Station is a natural-gas-fired combined-cycle cogeneration facility located at 76 Independence Way in Oswego County, New York. The facility comprises six operating generators configured in two combined-cycle blocks, each with four GE Frame 7FA gas-turbine/heat-recovery steam-generator units with duct burners, plus two auxiliary boilers and one emergency diesel generator. The facility provides wholesale electric power to the NYISO market, retail power to specified customers and utilities, and thermal energy to a host facility. The plant operates at 345 kV transmission voltage and is interconnected via the Scriba and Clay substations.
