Entergy Arkansas, LLC - Union County - MISO
Union Power Station is a natural-gas-fired combined-cycle power plant located in El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas, approximately 5.5 miles northeast of the city. The facility comprises four 550 MW combined-cycle blocks, each containing two GE 7FA combustion turbines, two Alstom three-pressure heat-recovery steam generators with duct firing, and one GE D-11 condensing reheat steam turbine. Current generator records identify 12 operating generator parts: eight combustion-turbine parts rated at 176 MW each and four steam-turbine parts rated at 255 MW each, for a combined nameplate capacity of 2,428 MW. The plant entered service in 2003 and is currently operated by Entergy Arkansas, LLC, which acquired one of the four power blocks in March 2016. The facility is interconnected to the Entergy EHV substation via two 500 kV transmission lines and participates in the MISO wholesale electricity market.
