Real-time and day-ahead rows coexist; filter market_kind before comparing or aggregating them.

Query contract

Preserve one row per region, fuel_category, market_kind, and event_time before aggregating.

Analysis rules

  • Filter market_kind before aggregation; real-time and day-ahead rows describe different market outcomes.
  • Within one market_kind and interval, sum fuel categories only once per region and do not add region_total_mw to its component categories.

Interpretation

  • market_kind='real_time' is a daily report for a completed market day, not live five-minute generation. Compare freshness to that daily publication cadence. For current conditions use miso.live_fuel_mix, whose category scope is different.
