Beech Ridge Energy
Beech Ridge Energy is a 100.5 MW onshore wind facility in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, running a single generating unit that has been operating since January 2010. The wind farm is owned by Beech Ridge Energy LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Chicago-based Invenergy, and consists of 67 GE 1.5 MW turbines built along a series of ridges in the county. Invenergy Services LLC operates and maintains the facility. Beech Ridge sells its output to Appalachian Power Company, a subsidiary of American Electric Power, under a 20-year power purchase agreement signed when the project reached commercial operation in 2010. The plant settles into the PJM market at its own Beech Ridge Energy price nodes, and EIA-860 lists no planned retirement for the wind turbines.
