Brunner Island
Brunner Island LLC - York County - PJM
Brunner Island Steam Electric Station is a 1,616.1-MW three-unit dual-fuel steam-turbine power plant in York County, Pennsylvania, operating in the PJM-PPL market. Originally developed by PPL Corporation, the plant was transferred to Talen Energy on June 1, 2015, through a spinoff and combination with Riverstone-controlled assets. The facility operates on natural gas and bituminous coal; under a 2018 environmental settlement, coal burning will cease by the end of 2028, and all three units are planned for retirement in June 2035.
