Cumberland (NJ) is a 231.2 MW natural gas fired combustion turbine plant in Cumberland County. Cumberland Energy Center, listed by EIA as Cumberland (NJ), is a simple-cycle peaking plant at 4001 Main Street in Millville, Cumberland County, New Jersey, owned by Calpine New Jersey Generation, LLC. Calpine reports 191 MW net at 100 percent interest, with dual-fuel capability. Calpine filed in 2024 to deactivate Cumberland CT 1 on June 1, 2027, citing New Jersey carbon rules, and PJM found no reliability violations. Constellation completed its acquisition of Calpine in January 2026.
