Kincaid Generation LLC

Kincaid Generation LLC is a 1,319-MW two-unit conventional coal-fired steam-turbine generating station located near Kincaid in Christian County, Illinois, approximately 20 miles southeast of Springfield. Unit 1 entered commercial service in June 1967 and Unit 2 in June 1968. The station operates in the PJM Interconnection market, connected at 345 kV to the ComEd transmission system, and transmits most of its power to northern Illinois. The plant is scheduled for deactivation and retirement by November 30, 2027, primarily to comply with the EPA Coal Combustion Residuals Rule.
