Portland (PA)
Operating petroleum-liquids generating plant in Upper Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Portland (PA) is EIA plant 3113, owned and operated by Portland Power, LLC. The current configuration comprises three distillate-fuel-oil gas turbines (generators 3, 4, and 5) with 194 MW of combined nameplate capacity. Generator 5, a 156 MW Siemens V84.3 unit, began operation in April 1997. Generators 3 and 4, rated at 18 MW and 20 MW respectively, entered service in December 1967 and May 1971. Portland Power, LLC is held 88.5% by Midwood Holdings LLC and 11.5% by Strategic Value Partners LLC. The facility previously operated coal units (generators 1 and 2, retired in 2014 and 2013), which were part of the legacy Portland Generating Station acquired by NRG Energy from GenOn in December 2012.
