Timmerman Power Plant

Timmerman Power Plant is a natural-gas-fueled peaker facility near Maxwell in Caldwell County, Texas, owned and operated by the Lower Colorado River Authority. It comprises two generating units, each powered by 10 Wärtsilä 50SG reciprocating engines (20 engines total). Unit 1 connected to the grid in August 2025 and Unit 2 in April 2026. The fully operational plant provides approximately 372 MW (net maximum capacity) of dispatchable generation to the ERCOT grid. The plant can ramp up and shut down in minutes to supply power during peak demand periods.
