Warrick
Warrick Power Plant is a conventional steam coal facility with three operating generating units (Units 1, 3 and 4) totaling 656.2 MW of nameplate capacity in Warrick County, Indiana. The plant is owned and operated by Alcoa Power Generating Inc., a subsidiary of Alcoa Corporation, and sits next to Alcoa's Warrick aluminum smelter near Newburgh, which the plant supplies with power, steam and water. Most of the plant's output feeds the co-located smelter, though Alcoa reported that roughly 31 percent of the Warrick plant's 2024 generation was sold into the wholesale market. The plant settles in the MISO market, with the nearest price nodes located directly at the site. No whole-plant retirement is scheduled: EIA-860 lists no planned retirement date for any of the plant's operating units.
