Mark One Power Station
CPS Energy - Brazoria County - ERCOT
Mark One Power Station is an operating natural-gas-fired peaking station near Angleton in Brazoria County, Texas, within the ERCOT market. The facility comprises eight GE LM6000 aeroderivative combustion turbine generators (CTG-1 through CTG-8), each rated at 60.5 MW nameplate capacity, totaling approximately 484 MW. Originally developed and owned by WattBridge Energy LLC, it was constructed by PROENERGY Services from 2021 to 2023, with the initial six units commissioned in early 2023 and CTG-7 and CTG-8 entering operation in 2024. The station is interconnected at 138 kV to the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric transmission system and delivers fast-start, reduced-emissions peaking power to support grid reliability and renewable integration. CPS Energy (City Public Service of San Antonio) acquired the facility on September 24, 2025, as part of a four-plant portfolio purchase from PROENERGY; PROENERGY continues to operate and maintain the station under service agreements.
